1. Structural features
① Round Head
The head is semicircular and rounded in appearance, which can reduce the risk of scratches caused by protrusions and is suitable for occasions where the surface needs to be smooth.
② Square Neck
There is a square section (neck) under the head. When installed, the square part will be stuck in the pre-drilled hole or the square hole of the plate to prevent the screw from rotating when tightened, achieving self-locking.
③ Threaded part
Generally full thread or half thread, the material is mostly carbon steel, stainless steel or galvanized for rust prevention.
2. Main uses
Wood and metal connection: such as furniture, shelves, and carriage wood board fixation. After the square neck is stuck in the pre-opened square hole of the wood, the nut will not drive the screw to rotate when tightened.
Steel structure: bridges, fences and other occasions that require anti-rotation.
Agricultural machinery: such as carriage wheel fixation (hence the name “carriage bolt”).
DIY project: scenes where the screw head needs to be hidden and prevented from loosening.
